The Sapphire Rose was written by David Eddings. It is the last book in the series, The Elenium. If you like Sir Sparhawk and the rest of these characters, the next series ,The Tamuli continues their story. I love series.

Sparhawk after much searching has obtained the blue rose, Bhelliom. The Blue Rose however, is a sentient being as well, as a magical jewel....Restoring Queen Ehlana is only the beginning of the of Sparhawks trials and missions. He must save Ehlana, save the kingdom, and save the church as well. Knights, swords, magic, and gods... a great read.

The Ruby Knight by David Eddings

The Ruby Knight was written by David Eddings. It is book 2 in the series The Elenium. I really enjoy David Eddings books. They have a classical and timeless style. These are books I read as a teenager and also encouraged my teenagers to read.
As we catch up to our hero, Sir Sparhawk, his Queen Ehlana, is still encased in the diamond throne that is sustaining her life from a near fatal poisoning. The living enchantment was created and is sustained by the lives of 11 knights and Sephrenia, his mystic tutor in the arts of magic. The enchantment has a limited time it can sustain  Ehlana before it starts taking the lives of the ones involved in the enchantment and Ehlana's as well.
Rumors and hints surrounding a powerful and mesmerizing jewel, The Bhelliom, may be the only way to save her...

The Diamond Throne by David Eddings

The Diamond Throne is book 1 of the series of The Elenium written by  David Eddings. The books in the is series are: The Diamond Throne, The Ruby Knight, and The Sapphire Rose. I really enjoyed this series. It was a more sophisticated read than the Belgariad or Mallorean series. David Eddings weaves another world and society dominated by the church, knights, kings & queens, with mystics thrown in.
The Diamond Throne is about a Church Knight named Sparhawk and his quest to save his queen Ehlana. She has been encased in a diamond to sustain her life from an assassination poisoning that would have meant certain death. Sparhawk is joined on his journey by the Styric mystic and former teacher Sephrenia, and group of knights to find a cure.

Polgara The Sorceress By David & Leight Eddings

Polgara the Sorceress was an intriguing story to read. It filled in all the gaps of her history, as well as filled you in on unfolding events. You really get a feel for Polgara after reading this. She's been everything from the Duchess of Erat to head cook at Faldor's Farm and protected every generation of the Rivan Line...

Belgarath the Sorcerer by David & Leigh Eddings

If you have read the Belgariad and the Mallorean series, you'll really enjoy Belagarth the Sorcerer. I put off reading this as well as Polgara the Sorceress because they weren't my favorite characters. This is fascinating read, to get into the thoughts and history of Belgarath that the other books don't cover. Find out what the old wolf has been doing for the last 7000 years.

The Seeress of Kell is the final book in the Mallorean series written by David Eddings. This question weighs heavily on Belgarion's mind.

Sorceress of Darshiva David Eddings

Sorceress of Darshiva is book 4 of the Mallorean series written by David Eddings. Quick plot: Zandrams kidnaps Belgarion's son and this is the epic tale of recovering his son. To get into a  little more detail, Zandramas is a gromlin sorceress/ priestess who has become the chosen vessel of the Dark Prophecy and became the Child of the Dark. Belgarion is her polar opposite being the vessel of the Light Prophecy and the current Child of the Light.
Belgarion' s journey is through a myriad of delays and and requirements set by the two opposing destines.
Not to mention, he has to find the Place That is No More for the final meeting of Child of the Dark and the Child of the Light. A great read.
